Nurturing and supportive, the Madre de Cacao or “Mother of Cacao” tree is a simple representation of motherhood in nature. The tree provides necessary shade to smaller cacao seedlings and the leaves act as a natural insect repellent. When the leaves drop from the branches, they add nitrogen back into the soil to nourish the cacao tree.
